The (brief) story of how you met/fell in love: Corey and I were introduced by a mutual friend! Phone numbers were exchanged and we had our first conversation as I was driving back to my hometown for Thanksgiving. According to Corey he fell in love with a phone call, we talked for over 4 hours. We met in person a week later and we have been together ever since.
The destination wedding decision: something you’ve always wanted or came to love?
I’ve always wanted a destination wedding and I love being on a beach. Corey was open to whatever I wanted to do.
What made you choose your resort/destination?
Originally it was based on budget. Mexico and Jamaica were the most reasonable. Corey and I had vacationed in Jamaica together a few years back so I chose Cancun, Mexico since neither one of us had vacationed there before.
How did you personalize your wedding and ceremony?
One item that I am most proud of is Corey’s ring. Corey’s mother passed away 12 years ago and he still had most of his mother’s jewelry locked away in a safe. I knew how close he was with his mother and how important she will always be to him. I asked if may take her jewelry to a jeweler to have a custom ring made for him. 
The funniest or most unusual moment was when….
Oh I don’t think I can say…but I will say my family partied the entire weekend!
The most memorable moment was when….
My mother prayed a blessing over us during the wedding ceremony.
Three words that sum up your destination wedding experience are:
Family, love and relaxation
Besides the wedding itself, what was your favorite part of your trip? Did you do any activities with your guests?
The couples spa package was excellent!
If you could travel anywhere for your one-year anniversary, it would be:
Hawaii, but we loved our wedding resort so much we would go back!
Your biggest piece of advice to couples planning a destination wedding would be:
Don’t stress enjoy each other!
