The (brief) story of how you met/fell in love:

Wendi and Zak met while they were dining at a restaurant in the Denver area. As fate would have it, they ended up sitting in tables that were next to each other and once the conversation started it never stopped. Zak traveled to Denver about twice a month until the following year when Wendi moved to Detroit to spend the rest of her life with Zak. Wendi and Zak are now living happily ever after planning for children, vacations, and the rest of their lives together!

The destination wedding decision: something you’ve always wanted or came to love?

Looking at all of the options….having a destination wedding provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable wedding that our guests would never forget. We were extremely happy with the outcome and the knowledge that our guests enjoyed an event that was anything but the ordinary wedding.

What made you choose your resort/destination?

After carefully reviewing our options, Now Larimar Punta Cana seemed like the perfect solution based on the wedding packages, amenities at the resort, room options, and affordability for our guests.

How did you personalize your wedding and ceremony?

We personalized our ceremony and reception in a variety of ways. For the ceremony all of the bridesmaids wore different colored dresses that corresponded to sachets that were tied around the chairs, this lent well to the tropical theme and was a feast for the eyes. Adding to the tropical theme, we spread rainbow colored rose petals on the aisle. At the reception, we continued the theme for the seating (sachets) and the rose petals on the table as well as other decorations like imitation diamonds, sparkles, and “Mr. & Ms.” Signs on the bride and groom’s table.

The funniest or most unusual moment was when….

One of the funniest moments was when one of our guests who had had a few too many tropical drinks shows up at the pool with lipstick on her eyebrows and forehead, it was quite the scene!

The most memorable moment was when….

The most memorable moment was when Wendi walked down the aisle, it was the perfect setting, beautiful weather, and we were surrounded by all of our loved ones.

Three words that sum up your destination wedding experience are:

Amazing, unforgettable, and fun!

Besides the wedding itself, what was your favorite part of your trip? Did you do any activities with your guests?

We participated in several excursions with and without our guests. The most memorable excursion with our guests was the “Booze Cruise” where we spent 4-5 hours on a pirate ship watching performances and enjoying tropical drinks, stopped for scuba diving, and parked at a beautiful beach to go swimming. Some of the other excursions we enjoyed without our guests were: parasailing, dune buggying and swimming with the Dolphins (which the kids seemed to enjoy the most!)

If you could travel anywhere for your one-year anniversary, it would be:

Bora Bora!

Your biggest piece of advice to couples planning a destination wedding would be:

Don’t forget the details, plan for everything….but once you get there, relax and have confidence that all of that planning will pay off!
