Hard Rock Punta Cana Hotel and Casino

The (brief) story of how you met/fell in love: Ryan and I met while he was vacationing in Atlanta. He came up to my home for a visit and we have been together ever since.
What made you choose your resort/destination?
I wanted a place that was affordable, fun, and a resort that offered something for everyone. Hard Rock Punta Cana has a casino, numerous pools, kids’ activities, sports lounges, bars, clubs, ice cream, and several wonderful restaurants, and most importantly a beautiful beach!
How did you personalize your wedding and ceremony?
Everything was personalized from the music, the monogram, the decorations and their arrangements, the tables, the design of the cake, the tropical flowers (which were beautiful), to the Alex and Ani bracelets I purchased for each of my bridesmaids. Each bracelet was a symbol of what they met to me. The groomsmen’s gifts were personalized as well. My favorite item was the wedding magazine which I designed as well. It was nothing sort of amazing.

The most memorable moment was when….
When I sang to my groom while walking down the aisle. I was such a nontraditional bride. However, after planning a wedding for two years, I often dreamed of walking down the aisle singing the song that describes him so perfectly.
Three words that sum up your destination wedding experience are:
Fun, Romantic, Fairytale
The funniest or most unusual moment was when….
The most unusual moment was the cold fireworks that appeared during our first dance and the mardi gras dancers. The guest really enjoyed these two things.
The funniest moment was the dances my husband performed while removing my garter. We have some pretty amazing pictures. He’s a very reserved and calm man so to see him let go and have that much fun was awesome.
Besides the wedding itself, what was your favorite part of your trip? Did you do any activities with your guests?
Our favorite part of the trip was the private catamaran tour. We swam with sharks, snorkeled, and partied in shallow water with cocktails and music. We had a blast and vacationers from other boats came over to join the fun!
If you could travel anywhere for your one-year anniversary, it would be:
Maldives
Your biggest piece of advice to couples planning a destination wedding would be:
Get a vision board and map out all the things you want to have. Then narrow the list down the things you must have. It was really amazing to see all my ideas on the board come together.
