Planning a Destination Wedding

Creating Your Perfect Destination Wedding Playlist

If music be the food of love, play on! Your wedding day should have a soundtrack that’s just as awesome as your marriage will be. Here are a few tips for picking those perfect tunes for each moment that takes you from “I will” to “I do!”

Getting ready with your bridesmaids

Music for this should be fun, upbeat, and totally girly. You want something that will relax and invigorate you at the same time. A few great choices are “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Happy,” “The Shoop Shoop Song,” and “The Way You Make Me Feel.”

Ceremony

You’ll want something a bit more traditional for the ceremony, but not anything that will put your guests to sleep! Think about your wedding theme or destination as well; if you’re having a tropical Hawaiian beach celebration, you might want to play a ukulele cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” or maybe if you’re in a Scottish Castle you could play “Wild Mountain Thyme.”

First Dance

You’ll want to make sure that your first dance song expresses your unique relationship, and has a beat that’s easy to follow. Some lovely options are “Everything,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” or “L-O-V-E.”

Cutting the Cake

Some sweet tunes should accompany your sweet tooth! Look for a song that will make you smile and enjoy the moment together; perhaps one that brings back nostalgic memories. What about “How Sweet it is (to be loved by you),” “This Will Be (an everlasting love),” or “Accidentally in Love.”
