Heather & Tyler’s Destination Wedding in Cancun, Mexico

Self-proclaimed party animals, Heather and Tyler met through mutual friends and had many fun, late nights together, which lead to a solid friendship. Heather recalls always having her eye on Tyler, but never quite finding the right time to reveal her feelings. Fast forward a few years later after having gone down separate life paths, Heather found herself at Target and happened to bump into… you guessed it… Tyler! They stayed in touch and ended up finally going on their first date – right at the height of the pandemic.

In January 2021, the couple took a trip to Mexico, where Tyler had planned a romantic dinner on the beach. After a lovely surf and turf meal, Tyler surprised Heather by getting down on one knee and Heather finally said “YES!”

They always thought it would be beautiful to have a destination wedding, and the allure of having a week-long celebration as opposed to only one night with their loved ones was a major selling point for them. Their Specialist, Alison, helped narrow down their venue choices and once they saw Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, they knew it was a must-have! And they were right – “we chose the perfect resort!” they remarked.

The couple recalls their first dance with fireworks being one of the most memorable moments of their big day, as well as a few groomsmen deciding to run and jump in the ocean as soon as the formal pictures were done! For their conjoined bachelor/ette party, they rented a private catamaran and had so much fun on the water.

When asked where they’d want to go for their one-year anniversary, Heather and Tyler exclaim “back to Cancun!’ and let’s face it – we can’t blame them!
