Hawaii Weddings – Places To See in Waikiki - Diamond Head

Waikiki which is located on the island of Oahu, is a great location for Hawaiian weddings. It offers a beautiful beach and an awesome backdrop for a wedding. Best of all, it offers plenty to do and see after the Hawaii weddings are over.
Diamond Head is an extinct volcano crater that now attracts tourists from all over. It over looks the ocean right by Waikiki beach and from the top you can see for miles and miles in each direction. In one direction you can look out into the wide ocean and watch the surfers look like small dots on the waves or you can look the other direction to the heart of city in Honolulu.
If you plan on hiking up the trail to the top of Diamond Head, which is the only way to enjoy the beautiful views, be sure that you are prepared for plenty of steps. There are four flights of stairs that must be climbed to the top. One flight alone has 99 steps. Once you reach the top, it is well worth the climb though. Also, you may want to bring a flashlight with you as well as there is one section of the stairs that you must climb up through a narrow tunnel with steep steps and hardly any light. The total length of the trail is 1 ¾ mile.
Along the trail to the top you can also see leftover complexes and observation decks that were once used by the United States military to protect the island. Although they have been long abandoned by the military, there is still evidence of what it used to look like.
Hiking up Diamond Head is a great way to soak in all of the island where so many Hawaii weddings take place.
