Waikiki beach, which is located on the southern side of the island of Oahu, is a wonderful place for a beach wedding. Several Hawaii weddings happen on the beach there every week as it's clear blue ocean and white sandy beaches make a gorgeous background for Hawaii weddings.
Waikiki beach is a strip of beach that is approximately 2 ½ miles long. Although all of it is known as Waikiki beach, areas along the beach have different names. It's a great place to spend time after or before Hawaii weddings.
Kahanamoku Beach
This beach is named after Hawaii's famous Olympic swimmer, Duke Kahanamoku. This is a popular beach for snorkeling and swimming. This beach attracts quite a bit of tourists as it has a snack shop, a surfboard rental, and a volleyball court.
Queen's Surf
This part of the beach is great for Hawaii weddings as it stretches beyond the seawall and doesn't attract as many people.
Gray's Beach
This beach was named after a little lodging house called Gray's-by-the-Sea, which was quite the place in the 1920's. It is a rather narrow beach but does attract surfers.
Diamond Head Beach
This part of Waikiki beach borders Diamond Head and the volcanic crater makes an excellent background for a sunset picnic on the beach. It is not safe to swim at Diamond Head beach so it does garner less attraction than the other parts of the beach.
Kuhio Beach Park
There is always something going on in this part of the beach. There is a stage that has nightly music and hula dancing. There is also plenty of things to do such as kayaking, surfing, body-boarding, and swimming.
