One of the most popular themes of a Hawaii weddings is the luau. Luaus are a tradition on the islands of Hawaii and are a must for anybody who is visiting the state. Instead of joining in on a luau why not throw your own luau at your wedding? Here are some unique ideas for using a luau theme for Hawaii weddings.
If you are having a luau theme, then your wedding definitely has to be on the beach. Hawaii offers beautiful beaches on each one of their main islands to choose from. The hardest part will be choosing which beach you want your wedding on!
When your guests arrive at your wedding, have someone designated at the wedding to put flower leis on all your guests. You can also get flowers for the women to put in their hair or even paper or bamboo fans as wedding favors. If you really want to get into the Hawaiian spirit, ask your guests to dress up in their favorite island attire.
Treat the wedding guests at Hawaii weddings to the flavors of the islands. Serve the normal Hawaiian food that you would get at luaus on the island. Items such as roasted pig, poi, fresh seafood, pineapple salad, and plenty of fruity drinks should be on the menu. If you really want to go all out with the luau theme, then have your guest sit at wooden tables together that resemble the traditional luau seating and hire luau dancers and performers for your reception.
Be sure to continue your theme of your wedding with the decorations as well as your wedding cake and favors. Decorate your wedding cake with brightly-colored hibiscus flowers or have flip flops as wedding favors for the guests to change into for the reception.
Remember to have fun at your wedding as a luau is a party!
