Picking out your wedding dress may just be one of the most important decisions that you make for your wedding. You don't want to look back at your wedding pictures and wonder why you chose the dress that you did. Here are some tips for preparing for shopping for destination wedding dresses.
Give yourself plenty of time to shop for your wedding dress. Don't wait until weeks before the wedding to start your shopping. Unless you are having a wedding that is being planned in less than two months, you should start shopping for your wedding dress at least 3 months before the wedding. If you plan on ordering your wedding dress, then you may need at least 16 weeks for the dress to come in.
Do some research on destination wedding dresses before you even set foot in a store. It helps to have an idea of the kind of wedding dress that you are interested in. This makes shopping less chaotic and stressful. This doesn't mean that you have to stick to that style of dress or be open to opinions, it just gives you a starting point for shopping. Bridal stores carry tons of different styles and designs and without having a plan on what dresses you like you may get too overwhelmed or you may end up buying the wrong dress.
Lastly, make sure that your wedding dress is comfortable. Even if you love a dress but it is the most uncomfortable thing, shop around some more to find another dress that you love and that is comfortable. No ones want to be tugging and pulling at their wedding dress during their whole wedding day. There are plenty of destination wedding dresses to choose from, so why pick one that will make you miserable on your wedding day?
