Destination Wedding Packages - Breezes Bahamas

After we started getting posts from our Destination Wedding Specialists about their favorite resorts for Destination Wedding packages, I figured I'd do up a post for Breezes Bahamas where I had my DW this past May.  Here are the top reasons why we loved Breezes:

1.  Price of accomodations.  It's a nice budget-binded all-inclusive resort.

2.  All-inclusive.  Yes, I mentioned it in #1, but it was a great fit for the party guests that we had coming to the wedding.

3.  Nice layout of the resort.  The resort is in a U-shape (see photo below), and everyone gathers at the pool in the center and the beach behind it, so it was easy to find our guests and we ended up taking over a section everyday.

4.  The ceremony location.  We loved the gazebo, because it was on the beach, but not in the sand.  This way we weren't walking in the sand during the ceremony, but could go out to the beach for photos afterwards.

5.  The wedding ceremony package.  The baseline package that they offer fit about 95% of what we wanted for a simple beach wedding.  We only had to add on a better photo package.

6.  The beach.  One of the better beaches I've been to on Nassau/Paradise Island.  Very clean and great sand/water.

7. Dining options.  Although not 5-star cuisine, we love it.  Breakfast buffet had a lot of options, and they did have some romantic options for couples at night, like the side-by-side booths below.

8.  Very fun resort.  They have a rock-climbing wall, and a flying trapeze with instructors, which are a lot of fun.  There are always contests or activities in the pool area, which were a lot of fun for a group of wedding "party-goers"

Were there a lot of add-on fees for your reception? Per Person for liquor? Buffet or sit-down? How many guests? Do you recommend? We're considering for our wedding and are grateful for any input. Thanks!

Hi Nancy,

Not a lot of add-on fees for the reception I think it was just one per-person fee, depending on the menu you choose. I think we ended up in the $50-$60/pp range. It was a sit down dinner with a dancefloor and dj. They have a really great reception spot that has windows overlooking the water (not right on the water). And there is a patio that wraps around it that you can do out on for a better view. We had a cocktail party out there prior to the reception, and that's where the bar was setup. There was a charge for the bar, but I can't remember the specifics. It was reasonable though. I had 50 guests and they all had an incredible time, and I personally highly recommend the resort as a good middle of the road all-inclusive property.

We are getting married there Oct 16 (hopefully no hurricanes that week!) Did you like your pictures, did you have video?

Hi Nicole,

Wow, you must be getting excited...it's coming up! We loved our photos - the photographer that came with the resort package was really great. I would recommend upgrading the photos (I think it originally only had a small amount, or it may have been time-based) Either way it was my wife's idea, and a good one. We didn't get video, but I would assume they would do an equally great job. We had an amateur videographer on our guest list who did a good job of covering it for us. Best of luck!

Thanks so much for your reply. I am trying to speak with the couple that does the wedding video there. Wish I had someone to do video, but our party is just us and our two teen sons :o)

Hi Shary,

Sandals was too expensive for us, plus we had seceral singles coming. We really loved the beach at Breezes, and the fact that they had the gazebo on the beach - it was a really great spot. At the end of the day it was a combination of great price, a ton of activities there (incuding a flying trapeze that some of our crazier guests had a blast on), great beach, and great wedding location. Just an overall great fit.
