Home to many celebrity weddings, the Bahamas offers you and your fiancé one of the most romantic and exclusive locations in the world to have your beach wedding.

New York model, Pilar Biggers, and NFL legend, Deion Sanders, married in the Bahamas in May 1999. Their beach wedding was said to be one of the most serene as their ceremony was performed by Bishop T.D Jakes who is the couple's spiritual advisor. The wedding was witnessed by 80 of the couple's closest friends and family members on Paradise Island, one of the most exclusive locations in the Bahamas.

Amber Brkich and Rob Mariano, also known as reality television's golden couple, had a Bahamas wedding in April 2005 on Paradise Island. The couple had a large and lavish wedding with more than 200 guests. Their beach wedding ceremony took place at sunset on the shore of one of the most spectacular beaches in the area.

Chris Evert, retired tennis champion, and Greg Norman, golfer, married in June 2008 in a non-religious ceremony that overlooked the Nassau Harbor at sunset. The ceremony was witnessed by 140 friends and family members in what was believed to be a $2 million fairytale wedding.

Jewel Kilcher, singer, and fiancé Ty Murray, a rodeo star, married in a beach wedding ceremony in the Bahamas in August 2008. The couple's Bahamas wedding took place on Paradise Island near their cabana, and the bride reportedly wore a strapless gown while the groom donned cowboy boots and jeans.

I just got back from staying at Sandals Royal Bahamian and had the opportunity to take several wedding photos including their gazebo on the beach, garden and the gazebo out on the private island. I was talking with one bride and that very day, she changed her wedding time to one o'clock instead of 3PM because of the heat. Just shows you, Sandals can be really flexible for you. If anyone would like to see a few photos and is looking into Sandals Royal Bahamian, I love to share! I have a photo of the Wedding book that is waiting for you in your room, the colored sand ceremony options, and a guest fan that was made to put on all the chairs. A great idea I thought!

Good morning Phyllis,

Congrats to you and your daughter! I just had my wedding in the Bahamas this past May. If you go to the Bahamas Weddings section you can view some posts that I did with a couple photos. If you want more I can send a link to a short video as well.

Hi Aisha,

Most (if not all) of my photos are in an album, versus digital unfortuately. I do have two photos in the blog post "Did I upset the Destination Wedding Gods" post under the category Bahamas Weddings. Don't let the title scare you...it has a happy ending!

Where are you getting married in Nassau? Do you have everything all setup?

Hi,

Thanks for responding. I found a place on the website creativitiweddings.com which is an Asian gazebo but I don't know where it is in Nassau. I'd like to be on the beach/near the beach, but not ON the beach in the sand. (smile) I'm still looking for a place to hold my reception though...

Hi Aisha,

Unless you are looking to do something really "outside of the box", you don't need to hire a seperate wedding planner in the Bahamas. If you are working with a Destination Wedding Specialist they should be able to help you find a resort that has a gazebo that you'll love, and it will be cheaper than bringing another vendor into the mix.
