Great post! One of the hardest things about planning a destination wedding is determining which resort or location is the best one! I wanted to add a resort location to the list - Pueblo Bonito Pacifica in Cabo San Lucas is an amazing place to have a destination wedding in Cabo. It's beautiful, secluded and romantic!
Keep up the great work here, I love your site, it's an excellent resource.
Could you please tell me what you know in terms of the easiest, nicest and flexible to work with resorts in Puerto Vallarta.
I have researched 8 and I am now pricing out the last three, looking into the
Riu Vallarta
Marival
or Palladium.
Basically long story short, I have a lot of people confirmed 77 people as of right now. I notice that a lot of my communication with the resorts is via e-mail. I need to know who is really good and flexible to understand what happens when we want other features or changes.
The Free Wedding was another attraction, I know there are extras all the time, but I was looking for a nice one that could offer a Free wedding due to the business we are bringing in of over 35+ rooms.
Any information you could share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Good morning Susana,
Wow, 77 so far is a great party group! I thought I had a good wedding with 52! You are right, the coordinators at the hotel aren't usually very proactive and dealing with them can sometimes be difficult. That's why it makes more sense to work with a company that does a lot of Destination Wedding, especially in the area that you are looking at. That way they can assist and use their influence to help you resolve any issues that you run into.
My fiance and I have pretty much decided to have our wedding in the Riviera Maya, Mexico (yes, despite the swine flu pandemic!) but as I read over the legal requirements of getting married in the country, I find myself a little uncomfortable with the idea of being x-rayed and having blood tests done in Mexico. I just had a discussion with my physician regarding radiation and although it is just one x-ray, I think it is unnecessary if my fiance and I bring clean bills of health from our doctors in the US. Any way to get around this requirement in Mexico?
Good afternoon Danielle,
I ran your question by a couple of our Mexico Specialists, and they haven't heard of x-rays before. The blood test is mandatory, but they let me know that it is really easy. They come right up to your room with a kit, and everything is in sterile packages - opened right in front of you, and there is a professional lab technician that take a quick sample. It's all very quick and professional.
Requirements vary by area of Mexico, and they can sometimes change, but I included a link below to the details about the Cancun area below. If you scroll to the bottom you will see the requirements that we currently have on file.
Now is a great time to get deals in Mexico!

Hello again Danielle,
Sorry, I forgot to mention the other option, which is to have a symbolic wedding. They are pretty much the same thing as far as the guests are concerned, but the symbolic wedding isn't legal. You would have to get married in the US (can be as easy as going to a justice of the peace) before or after your symbolic ceremony in Mexico.

Hello to everyone!
I live in the Riviera Maya, and there is a luxury resort that I think is worth mentioning for Weddings in the Riviera Maya, the Hacienda Tres Rios. It is absolutely wonderful!
