If you are a future bride and you are not afraid to show some leg at your wedding, then a minidress may be the wedding dress for you. Believe it or not, one of the growing trends for destination wedding dresses is high hemlines. The short wedding dress has raised it's hemline from right below the knee to above the knee.

mini destination weddings dressesIf you were to look at several wedding dress designer's collections, you are bound to find at least one minidress in each collection. Since most destination weddings are more casual, mini-destination wedding dresses are being seen at more and more destination weddings. One would not wear a minidress to a church ceremony, but may have no problem wearing one to a beach wedding. Some brides who are having church ceremonies are changing their dress and partying the night away in their micro-mini wedding dress instead of their formal one.

It takes some guts to pull of a minidress as your wedding dress. This trend is definitely not for everybody. Even when wearing a mini, you still want to look classy and not trashy, so you must find a kind of dress that fits you properly and still looks appropriate.

Micro-mini destination wedding dresses can come in a variety of shapes and styles. There are form fitting ones, loose ones, babydoll dresses, and even bubble hem dresses. If you are looking for a micro-mini wedding dress be sure that you try on the different styles to see which one best fits your body shape and is appropriate for your wedding. Some minidresses may look really nice on a model or on the hanger, but don't do you justice when you try it on.

Picking out your wedding dress may just be one of the most important decisions that you make for your wedding. You don't want to look back at your wedding pictures and wonder why you chose the dress that you did. Here are some tips for preparing for shopping for destination wedding dresses.

shopping for destination wedding dressesGive yourself plenty of time to shop for your wedding dress. Don't wait until weeks before the wedding to start your shopping. Unless you are having a wedding that is being planned in less than two months, you should start shopping for your wedding dress at least 3 months before the wedding. If you plan on ordering your wedding dress, then you may need at least 16 weeks for the dress to come in.

Do some research on destination wedding dresses before you even set foot in a store. It helps to have an idea of the kind of wedding dress that you are interested in. This makes shopping less chaotic and stressful. This doesn't mean that you have to stick to that style of dress or be open to opinions, it just gives you a starting point for shopping. Bridal stores carry tons of different styles and designs and without having a plan on what dresses you like you may get too overwhelmed or you may end up buying the wrong dress.

Lastly, make sure that your wedding dress is comfortable. Even if you love a dress but it is the most uncomfortable thing, shop around some more to find another dress that you love and that is comfortable. No ones want to be tugging and pulling at their wedding dress during their whole wedding day. There are plenty of destination wedding dresses to choose from, so why pick one that will make you miserable on your wedding day?
